Review - Geri X - White Light

White Light is the fourteenth release from artist Geri X. Geri is an emotional writer whose lyrics always portray whatever feelings she holds inside at the time of writing. The songs are always honest and the vocals are always something that leave the listener entranced. I've been a fan of her work as a whole.
It's very hard to release albums at such a frequent rate and have all of the material constantly best what has preceded it. This especially holds true when one of those releases was the almost untouchable Work Is The Wolf  album from 2012.

With all that being said, the album has a great start with "All The Money's Gone". This was a wisely chosen single that will please long time fans and undoubtedly reach new ones. (Review continues below video.)

Things continue on a positive trek with Geri's vocals continuing to shine alongside the infectious drive of the drums. "White Light" is another shining example of the groups talent. It delivers a moving and powerful song that resonates with the listener long after the song has ended. (Review continues below video.)

White Light contains plenty of highlights throughout its twelve song compilation. "Impress" does exactly that with its chorus echoing triumphantly in your ears and forcing you to sing along.  "Mad Mad World" also comes to mind when picking favorites from the album.

The album is genuinely high in quality as is expected at this point from a Geri X cd.  While the songs themselves are all above average, the second half of the album falls just short of the lofty heights Work Is The Wolf achieved. What we are left with is an album that is merely great instead of perfect. I think we can all live with that.
