If you like the sound of a full band with soulful vocals you will probably be in heaven with this release. Many layers are present to make this a unique and original package. Sometimes it’s the instrumentals taking center stage, at other times it’s MC Btrue, and Michelle Beebs delivers mightily as the voice of the outfit. Her vocals shine in both the softer sections of songs like Beautiful Gloomy and also at full power when delivering on tracks like In This Love.
The band gives the instrumentals the full jazz treatment by rounding out the bass, drums, and guitar with sax, trumpet and flute. This is a combination of several genres that works. Don’t try to fit them into a category. Just appreciate the music for what it is. Beebs And Her Money Makers came to drop the funk, and I say we let them. Go pick it up.
