Eyes Of Verona - Chapter 1 : The Fight
Eyes of Verona is a rock band that resides in France. This is their first episode in a series of EPs as evidenced by the title referring to it as Chapter 1. The EP starts off with a short intro called "Lords' Place". It has some ambience, a drum sequence, and a short sample of Sophie's vocals. Not bad for someone who was diagnosed as deaf when they were a child and told she was a horrible singer. She had an operation at a young age to help fix the problem and kept on with her dream. If the second song ,"Wolves", is any indication of what this band is capable of we should all be glad she stuck with it. "Wolves" is the stand out song on the EP and hooks you from the very beginning.
The EP's two other tracks are the upbeat "Im Ok To Go To Hell If You Are" and the darker "Stella Mary". Both tracks are solid even if they don't quite reach the level of "Wolves". Overall this is an impressive first release from a band that shows a lot of promise and has overcome a lot of adversity to get to this point. For the price of the digital download, you really can't go wrong with this one.

Love In War
The Florida based bands debut album is a nice mix of electronic rock that combines slower atmospheric tracks with full blown rock anthems. Opening up with the song "It All Means Nothing", Love In War shows off some of its rock inspiration from the start. Tracks like "What Does It Mean" showcase a softer side of the band and give the album variety. The pacing is a bit slow in the middle of the album but the only track that wore on me after repeated listening was "Futility".
The production values are high and tracks like "Your Gravity" and "Stray Bullets" could be used as a strong case to compare frontwoman Kate Flanigan's performance to Garbage rocker Shirley Manson's finest moments. This is a very solid release with moments of pure brilliance . Being that this is only the debut album from this band, you are probably going to want to stick around to see what they do next. Pick this one up.
