Beebs And Her Money Makers - Why You Should Give A Shit

Beebs and Her Money Makers is getting set to not only put out a new album and documentary, but to gear up and hit the road again for Warped Tour in 2014. If you know anything about the music industry, you already can see what a burden on the bands wallet this would be. Without having a major label to foot the bills for everything, the band is having to raise the money themselves. In walks the Indiegogo campaign. Indiegogo is used by bands to interact with fans and give them the ability to pre-order cool stuff while paying those hefty recording and touring fees at the same time. It's not begging, pleading, or asking for a hand out. It's asking fans to buy the album before it's made so that they can be part of the experience.

If you're already on board and ready to donate you can simply go here: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/beebs-and-her-money-makers-new-album-and-documentary/x/2361194  and be sure to share as well. Not convinced or don't even know who Beebs and Her Money Makers are? Well, keep reading. I'll tell you why you should give a shit and pre-order the new album:

Artist Spotlight - Trisha Lurie

Trisha Lurie is a singer / songwriter based out of Santa Monica, California. The alternative rock artist is working on finishing up her album Romancing Neptune, which was partially funded by fans through Kickstarter. She graciously let me have a listen to the upcoming album and also watch the video for her single "Dark Side". (Watch the teaser for the video here.)

Trisha embodies the spirit of classic rock artists such as Lita Ford in both her style and sound. From the guitar heavy instrumentals to the in your face nature of some of the lyrical content, it's obvious that plenty of influence was taken from the pages of eighties style arena rock. Don't let this description fool you into thinking that this is all the rising star has

Artist Spotlight - Jess Meuse

The first time Jess Meuse sang on stage she was ten years old. Music has been her ambition and dream ever since. She was born in Round Rock, Texas in October of 1990 and moved to Slapout, Alabma at the age of seven. Playing shows anywhere and everywhere she gets a chance to, Jess is an artist with the focus and work ethic to make a huge splash in the music industry.

Her influences and sound are made up of several different genres. You can realistically classify her as a hybrid of rock and country combined, making her accessible to a wide audience. Her voice has an amazing tone to it that takes the best qualities from artists like Jewel and LeAnne Rimes and combines them with an edgier rock style. You can find video updates on her Youtube channel where she frequently does cover songs and original material as she writes it.

I recently featured her Death Cab For Cutie cover on our Under The Covers Section. Make sure to check out one of her newer originals, "Blue-Eyed Lie", below and connect with Jess on Facebook to keep updated with her show schedule and future releases. Jess is an artist with incredible talent and drive and i'm excited to see what the future holds for her.

The Rant - Music Promotions

The Rant is something new i'm adding to BTG. It isn't meant to offend or cause arguments. It is however meant to start a discussion and make people aware of different opinions and get them talking. In the end I hope there will be some meaningful discussion and thought involved on everyone's part. I appreciate everyone who takes the time to read, share, and comment on here or on the Facebook page.

The first topic i'm going to hit on is running a music promotion page and website. I'm relatively new to all of this. This project will be two years old on July 12, 2013 and i'm certainly no expert at this. In fact, if I had to give myself a grade on all of this it would probably be a D -. It has been a lot of trial and error and a lot of mistakes but i am finally getting around to making the project what it was originally intended to be. Thanks to those who stuck with me.

Artist Spotlight: Polarity

Polarity is a Canadian band that formed in December of 2008 and released their first album in 2009. Since that time they have played live shows relentlessly across Canada and released a new EP and single, all while managing everything regarding the band internally. Their sound can be tranquil and soothing at times but can quickly erupt in a blaze of fury and emotion. Comparing Jasmine's vocals to those of ex Flyleaf front woman Lacey Sturm wouldn't be a stretch.

Artist Spotlight - Lillian Todd Jones

The 23 year old fire dancer from Britain has released this video for her song "Butter Soul". You can check out her other songs through the Soundcloud embeds below the video. I personally was entranced by the song and gave it several replays. She has a very captivating style about her. Make sure to connect with her on Facebook, Youtube, and Soundcloud.

Artist Spotlight - Carly Jo Jackson

Carly Jo Jackson is a 19 year old artist with one cd already under her belt and a new single out as well. Her relentless schedule of live performances show her determination and willingness to do whatever it takes to succeed. Her new single “Wildflower” showcases just how far she has come in a short time with her music. I had a few questions for the upcoming artist which she graciously answered:
