Artist Spotlight - MEG MAC

Megan McInerney is a singer / songwriter from Melbourne, Australia. Her musical releases so far consist of a few singles and highlight a myriad of different influences. Her voice is a powerful blend of soul and pop music, making it addictive and completely original. Her three song EP is scheduled to release on September 12. If her initial works are any indication of future efforts, this will be an artist to keep your eye on. Hopefully we will see an American tour in the future to support upcoming releases. I'd certainly be attending the show.

You can catch three of her videos below. Be sure to connect with MEG MAC on Facebook and Twitter.

Probably my favorite track so far, "Every Lie" is an intoxicating blend of pop and soul. I can see this one going viral quickly:

"Roll Up Your Sleeves" is a much slower affair, at times sounding like a one woman church choir bellowing out tunes to the masses both skillfully and gracefully:

"Known Better" has a very classic style to it. The song is composed in a way that fuses the classical elements with modern song composition to form something original and memorable:

Here are some tracks I think you should check out. First up is the brand new lyric video from Skarlett Riot. "House Of Cards" Should be available for you to purchase on September 8. Catch up with them on Facebook and Twitter.

Next up, some birthday wishes for some musically talented people. Happy birthday to Erinmarie Christian of Mr Bella. Be sure to catch up with Mr Bella on Facebook and Twitter and check out their song "Hurt Like Hell":

A Happy birthday also goes out to Veronica Pollard who was the front woman of Gorgeous Got A Gun during their run. Veronica was a huge supporter of this site during its creation and I hope to one day see her return to music. Check out the last EP the band released before they disbanded:

Review - Stef Lang - Rubix

Rubix is the latest release from Canadian artist Stef Lang. While some of Stef's past ventures have flirted with other genres, Rubix plants itself firmly in the Pop / Dance genre.

The EP is a brilliant mix of addictive beats woven seamlessly with Stef's vocals. Though the journey is over with a bit too quickly, this is a release that begs to be replayed. Songs like "Give It All To You" and "Run Run Run" are two of my favorite tracks, and will demand a place on your permanent rotation. This is another impressive release from an artist that already has an outstanding resume. If you're a fan of Pop / Dance or just music in general, this is a no-brainer. Pick it up and make sure to follow Stef Lang on Facebook and Twitter.
