Review - Sunshine & Bullets - Triangulum Mechanism

Triangulum Mechanism is the full length offering from Sunshine & Bullets. Weighing in at twenty songs, four of which are intros, makes this the most ambitious release to date in both size and production values.

The song "Go" was a wise choice for the single and really showcases the amazing production that went into this album. The dual male and female vocals on this track are almost chilling in their delivery. They are really that exceptionally done. Songs like "Go" and "Untold Stories" really show the band on another level. It's the deeper songs like these with multiple layers that have me excited about what this band can truly be in the future.

One of the disadvantages of releasing an album over an EP is that the chance of individual songs overshadowing others becomes even greater. It's also harder to maintain an even flow with all of the material present when there is more of it. Sunshine & Bullets manages to keep the quality and the overall feel of the album at a steady pace for most of the album. Although the two aforementioned songs tend to dull a few of the other tracks just because of their level of excellence, the quality of this album is without a doubt a step forward for the band and a worthwhile addition to anyone's music library.

The one big detractor I would have to point out is the inclusion of the song "Feel Good". It just doesn't fit with the rest of the material. While there is so much material that takes the band a step farther, this songs simplicity makes me wonder why it was included at all. I wasn't a fan of the song the first time it was released and hearing it up against better material only makes it stick out that much more. That being said, it's only one track.

I genuinely like the album a lot. I went in as a skeptic because of songs like "Feel Good". I'm leaving this review as a fan because of songs like "Go" and "Untold Stories". That's probably the biggest compliment I can give the album. It sold me on this band. Give the video below a listen and i'm pretty sure you might be sold as well. Make sure to catch up with Sunshine & Bullets on Facebook and Twitter.
