Review - Skarlett Riot - Tear Me Down

Skarlett Riot is back with their full length cd  Tear Me Down. Coming off of their 2012 EP release Villain, the band has crafted an amazing ten song compilation that has the band getting it right on all fronts. This isn't simply the last EP with a few songs added to it. Only "Villain" and "Party Hard" make the transition over to the full album. What you get is the biggest and best Skarlett Riot release yet and another contender for album of the year.

Opening up with the track "Faded Memory" the band starts on a high note and just keeps going. The quality and craftsmanship put into each song really showcases the professionalism that went into this release. While their last EP was a solid release that I
felt had some standout songs that rose above the others, this album shines as a whole. Showcasing a large sound with songs that resonate with you long after you stop listening, the band has reached a new level. The song "Adrenaline" hits you hard with a great rock vibe that continues on through the classic rock inspired "Rock N Roll Queen". Even the two minute interlude "Lost" serves as an atmospheric change of pace before taking you into the next infectious track. "Broken Wings" serves as the power ballad of the album and does so with perfection. The song is both beautiful and emotionally charged at the same time.

If you are just discovering the band you couldn't have come in at a better time. Their best release to date and also one of the best this year so far. You can pick up the hardcopy or some merch at their online store. Be sure to connect with them on Facebook to keep updated. You can listen to the album on Spotify by looking below the video.
